SETEM (Association of Film Directors, Writers and Composers)
SETEM (Association of Film Directors, Writers and Composers) was established in 16 April 2003 as first Collective Management Organization in Turkiye with the official authorization of Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
In addition to the legendary names such as Metin Erksan, Ö. Lütfi Akad, Halit Refiğ from the past, Semih Kaplanoğlu and Nuri Bilge Ceylan who are the star directors of today are among the members of SETEM. As a collective management organization of the owners of the original works SETEM has a strong representation power.
Besides having concluded reciprocal agreements with other countries’ collective management organizations, SETEM at the same time is a member of CISAC (International Confederation of Societies of Authors and Composers). In addition to that SETEM is also a member of Union of Forces of Cinema Collective Management Organizations and a member of SEK (Artistic Activities commission).
SETEM sends a “selective member” to The Ministry of Culture and Tourism’s Cinema Support Commission and sends a member to Ministry of Culture and Tourism’s lower and upper commissions of “Evaluation and Classification of Cinematographic Works”.
